What is Groovebook?
Groovebook is a subscription service that helps get your photos off your phone and into a 4.5 x 6.5 photo book every month. You select 40 to 100 photos for each Groovebook. Perforated pages make it easy to tear + share your photos. Be surprised by a bright new cover and colorful spine each month.
How much does Groovebook cost?
A Groovebook subscription is $2.99/month plus tax. This includes a Groovebook (with 100 photos) every month. If you order multiple books in one month or send duplicate books to friends + family, you will just pay $2.99 + tax per additional book.
Can I skip a month of Groovebook?
Sure, no problem. We will keep your account active, and the $2.99 subscription fee will still be charged by your book’s close date. Remember, you can always upload older photos if you don’t have enough new photos. Books do not accrue or roll over to future months if unused that month. The $2.99 monthly subscription fee is nonrefundable.
Which devices can run Groovebook?
The app is available in the Apple App Store for the iPhone and iPad and available for Android devices in the Google Play Store.
Why can I only upload photos directly from my device?
We want this to be an easy–to–use app with the simplest uploading + interface possible. You can synchronize photo albums from your PC or Mac by plugging your device into your computer, using iTunes or iCloud.
What happens if I upload fewer than 100 photos?
If you upload less than 100 photos, we will simply create duplicates of as many photos as necessary to fill your Groovebook with 100 photos.
When will my first book be completed?
As soon as you upload your first 100 photos we will automatically close, print and ship your first book. However, it’s no problem if you need longer to select your best photos, we will wait one week before closing your first book with 40 to 100 photos.
At what point of the month do my photos need
to be uploaded?
Your signup date determines your book’s closing date schedule. If you sign up on the 12th of the month, your photos must be uploaded by the 12th of the next month.
How do I select multiple copies of the same photo?
To select multiple copies of a photo, double–tap on a photo in the Photo Selection screen to bring up a large version of the photo. Then select the number of copies you wish printed from the Copies menu.
How do I know which photos were printed in previous books?
All uploaded photos of closed books have a lowercase “g” at the bottom left corner.
How long should it take for my Groovebook to arrive?
Your Groovebook will be printed 2–3 days after your closing date. We offer free shipping so please allow 15–18 business days for your book to arrive with USPS Bulk Mail. You can check on the status of your book in the app under the My Account Order History.
How will my photos appear if they are not originally
from my phone?
Some photos downloaded from your computer or social networks do not have the same dimensions as the photos taken on your phone. In this case, you may have a white border around some photos. This is to ensure we do not crop anything out of your photos. If you are using an Android device, the closest setting for your phones camera is a 4:3 ratio.
Why do I have to put my credit card information into the
app if I have a coupon?
Your credit card details will be saved for future subscription purchases. After your free Groovebook arrives, if you would like to end your subscription, simply cancel your account and your credit card won’t be charged.
Can I order extra books before my monthly due date?
Yes, you can catch up with old photos + print extra books before the scheduled due date, as long as you have selected 100 photos —just select the Print Now button from the My Groovebook screen. Then follow the instructions to close early. We will ship your Groovebook out immediately and this will cost an extra $2.99. Your monthly close date stays the same, so don’t forget to upload another 40 to 100 photos by then. This option only works when sending a book to a single address.
How do I send a single Groovebook to a family
member or friend?
Tap on the Gifting icon in the app. This will take you to the Send Copy screen. Select which closed book you would like to send from the dropdown menu, then add a recipient. Then simply tap Send This Book.
Can I pay for a monthly subscription, but have a book
sent to someone else?
Yes, from the My Account screen, tap on “details” and then select “edit” next to the shipping address. Change the shipping address to wherever you would like to send the book. Your email will remain the primary account communication mechanism, and you will be billed monthly, but the book will be sent to the address you specify.
How do I add additional people to get a copy
of my Groovebook every month?
Tap on the My Account icon in the app and go to the Subscription screen. Then tap “add someone to your subscription” and select the individual from your address book. Make sure the box is checked next to the name and you select “add to subscription.” This person will now receive a copy of your monthly Groovebook. Tap “edit” next to the name of the person to select how many Groovebooks you would like to send to them every month.
How do I remove someone from getting a copy
of my Groovebook every month?
Tap on the My Account icon in the app and go to the Subscription screen. Then tap “edit” next to the name of the person you wish to remove. Tap the “remove” link near the name of the person, and they will no longer receive your monthly Groovebook.
Can I choose which cover I get each month?
Part of the fun of Groovebook, is being surprised by a bright new cover each month. We have seasonal patterns that make it exciting to anticipate your next monthly cover.
What do the letters on the spine of my book stand for?
The letters represent each month of the year, so that you can easily mark off the dates of your books.
Do you only ship to the USA?
Yes. We would like to keep the shipping cost as low as possible or free for our customers and have figured out a special (patent pending) way to do this. We will hopefully start shipping to other countries very soon. If you would like to send a book to someone outside the USA, please first ship the book to yourself. However, we proudly ship direct to APO/FPO military addresses overseas.
How do I update my payment method?
Tap on the My Account icon and go to the Subscription screen. Tap “edit” in the Billing Information section to update your payment information then tap “save.”
Does Groovebook offer gift subscriptions?
Yes, simply tap on the Gifting icon and go to the Subscription section. You can gift Groovebook for three, six or 12 months right from the app. Select the desired gift from the dropdown menu then select “Give Gift Subscription.” An email will be sent to your account email address with the gift code and instructions on how to use it.
How do I reactivate my account or get a password reminder?

How do I cancel my subscription?
Cancel your subscription at any time by emailing your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please be aware of your next due date and allow 2 business days for your request to be processed.
What is Refer-a-Friend?
Our Refer-a-Friend program lets you give and get free books. Here’s how it works: Go to the Free Books tab in the app. Click on one of the links to easily share the Refer-a-Friend code with friends and give them their first book free – you can share via text, email, Facebook or Twitter.
Why is the price of a Groovebook going up?
We’ve been able to keep our prices low over the years with our unique business model of low manufacturing and shipping costs. However, like many other businesses, we have faced increased shipping and manufacturing costs. We have also added products and services such as improved photo selection options, expedited shipping options, better print quality, and new items like magnets and notepads
How are you improving print quality?
We have made enhancements to our existing printing process that will take effect in January 2018. This is in addition to enhancements through proprietary Shutterfly technology in January 2017. Bringing you the best quality print possible is important to us.
When does the price increase take place?
The new monthly subscription rate will take effect on March 1, 2018.
You do not need to do anything for the changes to take place.
How do I redeem the Shutterfly offer?
Log into your Shutterfly account or visit www.shutterfly.com and click ‘sign up.’ Search for “Art Prints” and then enter your exclusive offer code during checkout.
What is the deadline for making changes before the price change takes effect?
Cancellation requests need to be received two business days prior to your individual subscription renewal date.
Will my existing free book credit still apply at the new price of $3.99?
Absolutely! Your free Groovebook credit will continue to be valid at the new price.
